Jose Mourinho has provided an update on the fitness of four Manchester United stars following the side’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Four reasons why David Moyes will be a terrible appointment for West Ham

The Red Devils had a number of players missing on Sunday afternoon but Marouane Fellaini, who was a doubt ahead of the Premier League clash, came on for the final 28 minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo were not available, meanwhile, but Mourinho is positive they can return and help the side after the international break.

‘We have the group of players which are the ones that we hope will recover as soon as possible,’ United’s manager told MUTV following Sunday’s defeat.

‘They have to work every day but they are in a good position now. Pogba, Ibra, Rojo, Fellaini.

‘They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position.’

United next face Newcastle at Old Trafford before heading to Switzerland for a Champions League clash with Basel.
