Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho believes he deserves a massive pay rise after guiding the club to two major trophies last season, according to reports.
The Portuguese coach, linked with PSG recently, won both the EFL Cup and the Europa League last season, while his side sit in second place in the Premier League table this term and have a 100% record in Europe.
And according to the Sunday Mirror, that has encouraged Mourinho to try and earn a pay hike, with the 54-year-old wanting £3million a year more than he currently earns.
Mourinho is already one of the highest paid managers in Europe, but the £15m-a-year salary he wants would make him the outright best paid coach in football.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss has already tasked his agent, Jorge Mendes, with negotiating the pay increase.
Mendes has planned talks with United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward at the start of the new year, with Mourinho keen to get a slice of the massive profits he has helped create.
The talks come fresh off the back of some comments that worried United fans, in which Mourinho revealed that this would not be his final job in management.
The Portuguese boss has always spoken of his desire to try his hand at international management before retiring, though it was his praise of Paris Saint-Germain that really made fans anxious.
Curiously, Mourinho has been invited to have dinner with Roman Abramovich by the Chelsea owner after Sunday’s game at Stamford Bridge, though it is now yet known if he has accepted the offer.
