Mourinho suggested last month that he could leave Manchester United in the near future as he doesn’t believe he will end his career at Old Trafford.
He said: “What I can say is that I am still a manager with questions, with ambitions, with a desire to do new things and I do not think… I am sure that I will not finish my career here.
And he went on to hint his next destination could be Paris after stating the club “has something special. There is magic, youthfulness and quality. It is fantastic.”
His comments surprised many at the time with some suggesting it was merely a tactic at pushing the United board to offer him a new contract.
But, according to The Sun, the threat of Mourinho leaving for the Ligue 1 giants is very real.
They claim PSG have made contact with Mourinho’s representatives as they look to secure his services.
The report goes on to insist Mourinho has no interest in leaving United at this current moment in time but the French club have left the door open in case he changes his mind.
Mourinho already as ties at the club with PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique having worked alongside the Portuguese coach at Porto.
But United will be keen to keep hold of Mourinho who has helped steer them back towards the upper reaches of the Premier League after Louis van Gaal and David Moyes struggled to replicate Sir Alex Ferguson’s success.
