Martial has been in and out of the French team over the last few months, although he was recalled for this round of internationals against Wales and Germany.
The 21-year-old had come under heavy scrutiny from Jose Mourinho last season with the United boss often left unimpressed by his performances.
But he has enjoyed an upturn in form this season with six goals and six assists in 16 appearances.
He has had to battle with Marcus Rashford for a place on the left-wing of United’s front three with Martial starting just three Premier League games.
But Pogba has backed his fellow compatriot to break his way into the United starting line-up more often in the near future.
“I am sure he will come back. I am sure as he is very good and had a great pre-season,” Pogba told MUTV.
“Even during the start of the season, he helped the team a lot.
“Anthony is a big, big, big talent. He’s a talented player – one of the best players I have ever seen or trained with.
“He is still young and is going to improve.
“He will improve a lot and you are going to see even more of Anthony, I’m sure.”
