Inter Milan director of football Piero Ausilio insists Manchester United target Ivan Perisic is happy at the club.
United tried to sign the Croatian winger throughout the last transfer window and remain keen on him.
But Ausilio said: “We know how important he [Perisic] is.
“He is happy to stay at Inter, he is a great pro, he takes care of every small detail and I think one can see it. He is a top player to me.”
Manchester United are set to trigger extensions in the contracts of SIX first-team stars.
A host of United players will see their deals run out at the end of the season.
Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Daley Blind, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw and Sam Johnstone are all in the final months of their contracts.
And the Manchester Evening News say all six are expected to be kept on with the Red Devils looking to trigger their one-year extensions.
Chris Smalling has blamed Manchester United’s lapse in concentration for their defeat at Chelsea.
Alvaro Morata netted a fine winner as the Blues’s claimed a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
United centre-back Smalling said: “I think it was two teams there who can defend and who have got very good attacking players.
“I think it was always going to be a close game and we just fell asleep on their one big chance, unfortunately.
“It was disappointing from us because we’d watched a lot of their videos and we knew about Azpilicueta coming up and putting in those crosses.
“So for us to know what their game plan was and to fall asleep is very disappointing.”
