Manchester United post cringy David De Gea tweet – and it's immediately hijacked by Chelsea fans

Chelsea supporters have used Alvaro Morata to mock Manchester United in the aftermath of the side’s 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Luis Suarez risks wrath of Liverpool fans by talking up Philippe Coutinho transfer

Morata headed home Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross in the 55th minute against Chelsea’s bitter Premier League rivals and the goal turned out to be the winner on Sunday afternoon ahead of the international break.

David De Gea, arguably the Red Devils’ standout player this season, was busy between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, but could not prevent Manchester City from extending their lead at the top of the table.

Following Twitter’s introduction of 280-character posts, United *hilariously* tweeted: ‘With the introduction of #280characters, we are delighted to announce #DaveSaves will be extended to #DavidSaves.’

Seeing as ‘Dave’ did not manage to ‘save’ Morata’s header in the first-half on Sunday, Chelsea fans immediately hijacked the tweet with pictures of the Spain striker celebrating his goal.

Here’s how supporters responded to United’s message…
