Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is targeting a return to first-team action against Chelsea on November 5th.
The 24-year-old has been out of action since sustaining a hamstring injury against Basel in early September and United had hoped to have him back for their League Cup win against Swansea on Tuesday.
United face Tottenham at Old Trafford on Sunday before a testing trip to Stamford Bridge the following week.
Pogba is hoping to return to training to put himself in contention to face Chelsea and it will be up to Jose Mourinho whether he wants to risk the Frenchman, according to L’Equipe.
There’s a ten-day international break directly after the clash at Stamford Bridge and Pogba is likely to be omitted from France’s squad for friendlies against Germany and Wales.
That will give Pogba more time to recover and to get up to speed but he will be determined to return against Chelsea with United trailing Manchester City in the title race.
Mourinho faces an anxious wait to see if Maraouane Fellaini or Michael Carrick can return in time for Saturday’s game against Tottenham.
The Red Devils have leaned on a midfield two of Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera in recent weeks and have been without the pair since late September.
